In progress...

...working on some new large pieces in the workshop today in preparation for the 'Glasgow Girls' show at The Scottish Gallery ...the motif is taken from this leaf I found a good while ago...when I first spotted it, I knew it would be a brooch...though, it might well be becoming some other things, too.

The mister was luckily around to capture some new perspectives while I worked.

Okay...back off to the bench with me - more piercing and then dinner! It's hungry work... ;)

Honestly...

...I'm not dead, I promise!! ;))
...somehow more than a week has just disappeared far too easily in a haze of working, being busy and looking at lots of amazingly gorgeous things both online and in person, out and about!!

Here are some of the shots of the *stunning* Hyacinth beds at Belfast Botanic Gardens from the other week. I am now full stocked up with inspiration for the HW pieces and am nearly there with finalising them...it's been almost too hard to choose what imagery to use! I have also started work on some new big pieces for a forthcoming show at the Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh...so I am having fun with those.

Some gorgeous links found whilst browsing Children's Illustration for a few hours this morning with the mister...could spend hours browsing that wonderful blog! :)

:: Eric Carle {amazing author and illustrator of the Very Hungry Caterpillar} has a blog!

:: Where the Wild Things Are looks fantastic...can't wait to see it!

:: Crayon Physics Deluxe looks fascinating!

Hopefully back tomorrow with some glimpses of happenings from the workshop...in the meantime, have a wee look here at the launch of Mister Bell's jewellery collections...and there is more coming soon, too. So, so, SO good!! :)

*Edit* - for everyone interested in Mister Bell's jewellery, you can get in touch by emailing him directly...

Happy Monday all...xo

...from the Botanics in Belfast.

{edit} I almost forgot - the new issue of Antler Magazine is out today - and both Mister Bell, and I have been interviewed :) Check it out...{it's a beautiful magazine...and just on it's second issue, too - can't wait to see how it evolves, it's already so good!}...

Happy Wednesday all, xo

Belfast Botanic Gardens...

I took so many shots here, I am not sure quite how to show them - or group them, to best effect...all I know is that I am really pleased with some of them, and the light was just perfect! It is *such* a beautiful place...so, prepare for a flower and plant-fest!

The mister was sure I would like it there. He was, of course, right. ;)

The Glass house was closed before one, so that will be something for next time...it looked truly stunning just from peering in!

Off to the bench with me - more shots from the gardens later! {Including a HW one, of course ;)}

More soon, xo!

p.s. if you would like to see these bigger, just check out my flickr page.

Belfast, on the beach...

Yay for; getting the best of the day before the rain started. A lovely wee dander along the beach. Pebbles of perfection found for me by the mister, the sky playing ball and wooing me...what more could you ask for?

Some things I am loving this weekend...

Happy Easter Monday everyone,

Happy Easter...

Greetings all, and a very Happy Easter to you!!

I landed back in Glasgow this afternoon after spending the week in Belfast with the mister - having the nicest time, and ruining all my best laid blogging plans by simply having too much fun to even think about it for a few days. I did take heaps of lovely photos at the Botanic Gardens though, which were a mass of inspiration {and an utterly lovely way to spend a few hours!}, and at the beach too, which I can't wait to share...{guess what, I even managed not to fall in a rock pool! Imagine! ;)}...

Above is a little sneak peek of some of the gorgeous new jewellery work coming soon from Mister Bell...it seemed thoroughly appropriate to share today, don't you think? Just wait until you get to see the rest!

...more soon, and have a lovely long weekend! xo

From above...

Gosh...I feel completely shocked how fast this week has flown in...it's been very busy, yet weirdly long!

...I was out down to the post office today it was so mild I didn't even need a scarf {which was really just as well as I ran, literally, out of the house without one!}...when will I ever learn to get to the post office in good time, egh? Probably never...it forces some exercise one me, at least ;)

Without my Hyacinths, I am having to fill the house with spring in other ways...and, as ever, I am obsessed with the view from above... daffodils and tulips hit the mark just right...

This weekend, swooning over pictures from Paris by Alicia, planning on doing some tax work {boo!}, adoring this short film SIGNS, and this gorgeous video from Lisa Hannigan...{via Jane}...

All shamelessly romantic, no? ;)

I am going to Belfast on Tuesday...so I have lots to do before then, so it shall be a busy weekend...but, I hope to be back before then with my sketches for the necklaces...I am tracing and designing and plotting like a mad woman...and, you know, my camera will be going with me to Belfast - so I might do some reporting from there, too. It's my first time there, so I am very excited to see it...as well as my chap who resides there...

;)

Happy weekend, all. xo
