HW {part 8}...

A sneak peek...a hint...just a little one {or four} ;)

Ideas swirling...hands being kept busy knitting, cooking, buying new {old} albums on itunes...I was so young when I first got this album, but it's still so very good all these years later. Especially this...and this...

Ahh nostalgia ;)

Happy weekend, all.

Knit Knit Knit...

I touched on something in my Modish interview about creative jobs often being thought of as vocational {as they usually started out as the persons main hobby or interest in their younger days} - and how, for me, my main making role has slightly become something else...become work, albeit work that for the most part I greatly enjoy.

I was talking to someone recently about how all the things I used to do for relaxation and enjoyment are now hugely tied up in 'work'. How sometimes it's hard to separate the two and find true relaxation in these activities you once did just for fun...photography is still one thing I truly love and enjoy and feel is my own, although it is very much still used in my work - but still, that's not something you can physically do as an activity for hours to relax on the sofa...so I have been looking for something new!

I cross-stitched a lot as a youngster and truly loved the repetitive nature of it...I could get lost in it like a meditation, and I even loved just following a pattern - rather than having to invent one myself {or be overtly creative}...I sort of fell out of it, though, but did pick it back up again a little bit in Provence a few summers ago {reminds me, I need to finish that!} ;)...

Last week, the mister taught me to knit. I am not up to doing patterns yet, or anything complex...but I can already feel that just knit knit knit knit knitting will be good for me...good to keep my hands busy and my head a little healthier and clearer. That the rhythmic nature of the task will appeal to my mind and chill me out a good deal...

I bought some gorgeous soft purple wool with a soft sheen...so am starting a scarf. Bamboo needles too...mmm

I need a rest this afternoon, it's been a busy week, so that is what I will be up to! Sitting on the sofa and knitting!

So, what are your plans for this weekend? Anything nice? How will you be relaxing?

Today I am liking these Rose Stem Swizzles , and my new Plaid Dress {roll on summery weather},  and am loving this shot.

Happy Friday, all.

Modish Interview...

Hi everyone...gosh, it feels like an age since I was last in this space - it has been a busy week!

...just stopping in quickly tonight to say a big thank you to Jena at Modish who has interviewed me for her Biz Tips Blog.... :) Have a wee nosey if you fancy hearing a bit more about me and the business...

Mister Bell is back in the studio with me this week, working on some more jewellery. So lots of fun is being had as well as working like trojans! Will be back soon with more Hyacinth Watch...plans are very much afoot for the necklaces, which I am excited to get stuck into toute suite!

On another note...cannot *wait* to get out and about with the camera to capture the signs of spring that are creeping up all over the place here. I shall firmly add it to the list ;))

xo to all.

HW {part 7}...

I have so enjoyed watching my Hyacinths bloom...this shall be the last batch of photos, though - as they have gone over now...the bloom quickly, and wither just as fast...{but that's okay - my Mum brought me a lovely bunch of daffodils the other day to keep Spring in the flat!}...I shall let them dry off, and keep the bulbs safe for next year...

I will likely have some more drawings however - maybe even some patterns...and of course, the necklaces! So HW is not quite over just yet ;). This week has run away from me very quickly...so I haven't quite gotten on top of that the way I had planned...but, the weekend and next week, should afford me some catching up time for sure...

Oh...and a lovely wee bit of press, too. My anemone cluster necklace in this months issue of Lucky Magazine, USA. *grin*

::::

This song - Kandi {by one eskimo} is really good, but it's the Candi Staton sample that makes it great...

...after sending that link along, Mister Bell pointed me to this amazing track from Mint Royale...and it is haunting me. I've had it on repeat constantly for the last day... *wow*.

...happy Friday, all.
Have a great weekend... xoxo!

So utterly Desire-able...

Gosh I am feeling like one hell of a lucky gal this week...with an influx of amazingly good things into my home {and all produced by one fantastic man, too!}. Let me share my good fortune {and glee} and guide you through the beauty...

Above, a stunning photographic print which, by chance of fate, works perfectly with the colours in my living room {not that I choose art to match my decor, you understand...but it's a lovely happenstance when it works SO well!}...the detail and depth of field in this piece just blow me away...I can't wait to hang it! Above the sofa works, don't you think?

Moving on to the goodness I can carry on my arm - my brand new, and stunningly beautiful handbags arrived today...and wow! It took me a long time to decide which bags to snap up for my own...hours and hours in fact - but I am so pleased with my choices...the Peach Tartan Nigella {with ochre yellow leather accent!}, and the Green 'Keeper Tweed' Vivienne {ohhh the handle!}...

It's not often that something makes me gasp, but these sure did! Each arriving in delicious cotton dust bags, their weight and quality is just dreamy...the fact that they are entirely hand made and unique {only one of each colour way is ever made!} makes the whole experience even more special and rewarding...

The fact that they are made by the wonderful and talented Mister Bell {remember him? ;)}, of course, only makes me even more enamoured of them, and in turn, of him...

In the market for some beauty? Visit Mister Bell's store... Desire Lines... for his latest handbag collection, just uploaded today, and prepare to fall for them as hard as I have!!

...other ones that especially have my heart - here, here and here ...save me from myself, I could SO go on!! ;)

Remember each bag is a *one off*...so if you find your new love...be sure to snap it up asap before someone else does!!

You'll be happy you did, you can trust me on that.

;)

::::

...in other news, Hyacinth Watch is still alive and well - just a little intermission today as I couldn't contain myself...but I have been photographing and recording over the weekend, still, and am looking to begin work on the necklaces this week! Spring has sprung! It's still damn cold though...

Good thing I have these luxurious new goodies to keep me warm! ;)

Happy Tuesday to you!

On a Monday...

...just stopping in with a quick hello. I have been dashing about since first thing this morning and am knackered already - the weekend seems ages ago!

Shot these over the weekend...and it occured to me that I really do have a favourite...though I always felt I 'saved' it for select packages - apparently not ;))

Mmm...ribbon.
Mmm...ochre.

Back tomorrow to share something *extra special* that is making me smile ever so wide this fine Monday, possibly even for the rest of the week and far beyond!

When life creeps in {HW part 6}...

Sometimes it's the shots where life just happens {accidental inclusions {mess!}, you catch something you didn't mean to, you get in the shot...you capture a shadow you didn't intend} that I like the best...but, I don't always share them...

I almost like keeping them, just for me - and only showing the things I think are a little more perfect {or what, at least, I had intended}...but not today. Today is all about life creeping in...and letting it!

;)

Listening to Santigold and Emiliana Torrini. :)

Have you seen this advert? It makes me so happy...and I have been in that station often, I keep thinking how great it would have been to be there!

This video is also stunning too...I love the song too...*so* beautifully animated...

Happy Thursday folks, xo!

HW {part 5}...

...these are from yesterday {the second one is starting to bud today already!}...so I am playing catch-up on my watch...thanks so much for all your comments on this wee project and the idea for the installation, so glad you are enjoying it as much as me. Anyone bought themselves a Hyacinth yet? Fancy playing along?...

Some new to me blogs I am enjoying >

Bliss {via Jane}, Le Love {My god, the inner sap in me love this one hard!}, Pergenius, The Selby, and finally Hi + Low {which is just excellent}...

Right, time for me to absolutely stop reading blogs and get into the workshop! ;)

More tomorrow...xo
