Postcards...

Oh what-a-to-do!!....I am trying to decide on the images I want to use, as I am getting some new postcards printed {that I will also use to make up press packs for One Year On}. This one is a new photo of the Sweet Horse Chestnut Carved Necklace....and it was the 'un-posed' version, just shot how the necklace fell....and it has grown on me. Do you think it would make a nice postcard?? I am also thinking this, this and this to make up a set of four....hoping to represent as much of my work as possible. So, SO hard to decide......

On Monday I went to Fopp and picked up Amelie at LONG last!! can you believe I have never seen it!...anyway, I simply loved it, and just can't wait to make some time to sit down and watch it again...there are so many moments of perfection, sheer beauty..genius! Oh I loved it so....:)

It was my Mums birthday weekend just passed, so I am a little behind on work {and beginning to feel very stressed..and am making it worse by accidentally sleeping in in the mornings...ahhh!!}...deadlines are looming, ideas, thought and to-do lists are whirring in my head, and I don't know what to do with myself. Fiddle with images of jewellery....that's it!!???? ;)

Hope everyone had a good long weekend....xox

Abigail, I love the last picture SO much, it's gorgeous! They all are beautiful though ;) I think they will all be just fine for postcards.
I work as a production assistant for a metalsmith jewelry artist here in Seattle and she has postcards similar to yours and hers turn out great so no worries!

oh i LOVE this photo... it's really perfect.... my only reservation about your set [if you are going to send them out as 4] is 2 necklaces w/ ivory.... the rings and the pattern are divine... maybe earrings? or one where you show what you do when you cut and leave the outline?? that's my 2 cents....

it's great to hear about falling in love w/ amelie all over again... i want to watch now again too!

hai Abigail, I really like this picture, it is very balanced eventhough it is un-posed. And I agree with Lisa that maybe earrings in your set of 4 is not such a bad idea. Love the idea of making postcards...and I bet they will look really nice when finished :)

i can see the point about having one with earrings, but they are all lovely as well - i understand why you're having such a hard time choosing. in the end of the day though, you can't go far wrong because everything you do is spectacular and people can recognise that right away.

hope you're having a good week and have overcome the sleeping in problem. it's funny how it happens from time to time and then you suddenly are able to wake up at the right time again. i've noticed, for my own part, that it has a lot to do with the weather.

beautiful photo! it will make a perfect postcard. :) amelie is the best isn't it? i love the soundtrack too. sleeping in is the best. make a deal with yourself that if you sleep in, you need to cross something off your list. sorry you're feeling a bit stressed. thinking of you! sending some bright sunshine your way. x,shari

These photos are perfect for postcards! The watercolors are spectacular! Very beautiful! I love the carved pieces lying on top of them. Very attention grabbing and unusual. Well done!

That photo is beautiful - it really sums up the modern/botanical/romantic feel of your jewelery. I would be pleased as punch if it arrived in my mailbox.

I do agree with Lisa and the others about variety... I think your outline pieces are especialy eyecatching, so I suppose it boils down to what you want people to "see" if that makes any sense... (probably not :)

postcards - i assume you need to choose one only for your card.. (abacus are a great company too, do fab gloss and matt on same surface, a la luxury chocolate box!)

i think the third one of 'this this and this' would suit. the rings are a great photo but from a jeweller's point of view, too standard for a promo card, the third is sufficiently 'alternative'.

that's my 2 cents worth (you now have 4 cents!!)
see you soon

I am so looking forward to my pendant drill arriving, much jewellery making to be had!

Very nice image. I like the pearl rings too. I would use the neclace image of the Sweet Horse Chestnut Carved Necklace as a primary image as it is very strong and quite nicely balanced. I would also fiddle with it in Photoshop a bit, pump up the contrast a tad and a nudge on the colour balance to make the neclace jump off the brown paper a bit more.

I think all the pictures would provide a very nice set of postcards. Just go ahead with it.
Amelie is one of my favourite movies. I watched it when it came out at the cinema when I was still in England. Loved it! My friend has the dvd and now that you talk about it I think I may watch it again one of these evenings.
beijinho and continue the good work!
Paula :)
