Coming round...

The wanderer returns, at last...;)) Things have been a tad mad here this last week since I got back from London last weekend {I had a really lovely time with Claire and Camilla btw!!}...as I have had so much to do organisation wise {it is almost Christmas don't you know!!} and work wise. I am finishing off my last order tonight....and then the only making I have to do is presents for near and dear ones.....phew

Today, we did the Christmas tree - [ it is still not quite registering with me that Christmas is almost here..I have done some {most} of my shopping, and am hearing carols in the shops...but I still feel a bit distant and disconnected from it all...] - and boy, was it a struggle. An 11 foot whopper had to be wrestled up several flights of stairs, and then chopped to 10 foot in order to fit upright!! First of all it didn't want to stand up in the pot we had....so we had to get another monster stand to hold it securely and prevent broken windows galore! It is the heaviest tree I have ever lifted, and we are all hobbling about with sore backs, bruises, scrapes and pine sap rash tonight!! ;)))).....however, it is decorated, twinkling, and Christmas cheer is starting to creep in about me.....I am going to photograph some of my favorite ornaments tomorrow and show them!! It is always such a joy to unwrap the decs and look at them each year....

Over the next few days I have a good bit of tidying up to do...and loose ends to tie up. I am heading through to Edinburgh tomorrow night to see a friend, but will be touching back in here on Saturday - as I'm sure I will have much to write and post about, festive cheer and all that.. {including showing off some gorgeous treats that some lovelies have already sent my way!!!}.......have a wonderful eve all.....
love, xox

Hooray for big trees, rediscovering ornaments, and Christmas in general.

Wow am I jealous of your bay window.
I've only just got enough decorations to deck a 3' one. One day I'll have emassed enough to get 10' of knicknacks out and on display!!

Lovely tree. I've felt a little disconnected from Christmas this year as well, but that's not too unusual. At the end, when the gifts are given and received and all the big smiles come out, I usually get the warm fuzzies inside :)

Very nice :)
Where is my bearded angel i made in P.1 though? I think it is blog-worthy.
oh, and my amazing clay snowman i made in nursery (who used to have legs but broke off as i didnt understand the whole "top heavy"/snowmen dont actually have legs thing". High-res pics please as im sure they will be a hugely desireable download.

Now that's a tree!
Have a great Christmas Abigail, and keep those creative fingers happy so we can see more of your work and words in 2007.
