Bought some beautiful Hyacinth bulbs today { white I am told }...and some compost, so will get those planted up soon. Very much looking forward to the scent of spring coming into the house....
Over the weekend I had lunch at my Aunties in Edinburgh - she made the most beautiful Turkish apple cake...imagine bircher muesli as a cake - very dense, sharp yet sweet, chewy...so good, and so unusual! The recipe comes from a brilliant cookery book...David Scott's Middle Eastern Vegetarian Cookery..which although is now out of print [or so I think] can still be found second hand on amazon. I am going to make one of these cakes this week [it doesn't have any butter/fat or oil in it...so it makes for perfect breakfast fare with Greek yogurt, or so I imagine!] ...so if anyone wants the recipe, just email me and I will send you through a scan of the page :)
Thanks so much for all your kind words about the new shop launch...and to all you who purchased something! I can now confirm everything is running smoothly...and I am very much enjoying the new set-up. Hope you are too!
Good Monday to you all...

ps - to the lovely lady who introduced herself to me whilst in Fifi and Ally last week...leave me a wee message sometime so I can read your blog {I should have taken a note of it at the time!!} :) It was lovely to meet you.
